This Privacy Policy describes how LiveBriefing (the "Site") collects, uses, and protects your data. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
What we collect
- Account data — when you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password hash. We do not store your raw password.
- Session cookies — a single HttpOnly cookie signs your authenticated session. It contains no personal data and expires automatically.
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, and request path are logged for rate limiting and abuse mitigation. Logs are retained up to 30 days.
- Usage telemetry — we may record that you viewed a page and which section, stored under an opaque identifier. No third-party trackers are loaded.
What we do NOT collect
- No third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
- No social-media pixels or tracking scripts.
- No access to your brokerage account, trading account, or financial records.
- No location data beyond IP-derived coarse geolocation (which we use only to comply with applicable law).
How we use your data
We use collected data solely to (a) operate the Site, (b) authenticate your session, (c) protect against abuse, and (d) improve features. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Your rights
- Access — email [email protected] to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Deletion — delete your account at any time from Account. Deletion removes your email + password hash and invalidates pending sessions.
- Correction — update your email address from Account. Other fields are derived from your actions and cannot be modified in place.
Cookies
We set only strictly-necessary cookies: a session cookie after login, and a cookie recording your consent to this policy. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt at rest. Data in transit is protected by TLS. Backups are encrypted. We apply least- privilege access to administrative systems.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the "Effective" date above and notify logged-in users by email or on-site banner. Using the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
